A companion setup workbook

Couple.me.
Define the character.
Then begin.

Appearance gives a first impression. Personality, a shared situation and a useful opening give the conversation somewhere to go.

01 / YOUR STARTING POINT

One quick choice before
many smaller ones.

A

Browse a ready-made character.

The official product provides character discovery and chat. Start here when you want to see whether an existing personality fits the scene you have in mind.

Read the description for assumptions: who the character is, what relationship is implied and where the opening begins. A familiar-looking portrait does not tell you those things.

B

Build your own companion.

The creator describes realistic/anime style, appearance and personality choices, including occupation, hobbies and relationship settings. Start here when the identity itself is part of your creative project.

Use occupation and hobbies to establish what a character can talk about, and relationship settings to establish how the scene begins. The creator also describes editing the profile later and keeping multiple separate chats; a revised profile and a new conversation are different operations.

02 / Two sides of one character

Keep looks
and behavior distinct.

Editorial companion brief: identity describes who the original fictional adult is, behavior describes how they respond, and an opening offers the reader one useful choice.

The visual brief

  • Art style and stable appearance.
  • A small set of recognizable details.
  • What may change with the scene: outfit, setting, lighting.

Use an original fictional adult identity. A visual description establishes a direction, not a guarantee that every future image will match perfectly.

The conversational brief

  • Personality expressed through behavior.
  • Occupation and hobbies that give the conversation a subject.
  • Relationship setting and the user’s role.
  • A goal that leaves room for a reply.

Map the idea into documented choices: an adult chef’s occupation supplies a work topic; a hiking hobby supplies an activity; “roommate” establishes a different starting relationship from “crush.” These choices need not be packed into a fictional biography.

Turn the profile into a first message.

For the chef-and-roommate premise, you might write: “We both have Sunday free. Should we try the short hill walk before lunch, or cook first?” This is a proposed user message, not a verified custom-greeting field. It uses the chosen hobby and relationship while leaving the next action open.

03 / Access is not one balance

Messages and media
can be separate.

The official Terms describe five starter messages, then paid unlimited messaging plus 100 monthly feature tokens for extras such as images and voice notes. These are published policy terms checked October 16, 2026, rather than a verified account balance or checkout offer.

Before paying, identify what the plan covers, which image or voice features use a separate balance, the full billing interval and the next renewal total. Unlimited messaging does not by itself mean unlimited images, voice or video.

Five comparisons examine relationship premises, opening-field choices, shared-character generation rights, deliberate art-style changes and voice-call routines.
